    I have a Kingston mDuo 32GB USB 2.0 - using the file "Restore-v3.13.0.0.exe" under the Phison Format & Restore worked for me.

    On a sidenote, it'd be nice if this website had fewer ads, it was a real pain in the ass to find the correct download - some of the ads contain malware and it detracts from an otherwise great tool. Thanks for making it, you saved me the cost of having to buy a new USB drive.

    Hi Ashraaf,
    I got an USB stick with an update for my car-navigation system. As it's out of date now, I would like to use it as data-stick. however it seems to be hardware write-protected. Tools above don't recognize stick or return the error write-protected.
    there are the following IC's on it:

    Hi, somehow I messed my working PS2251-68 Kingston DataTraveler 2.0 DTSEH9 16GB with MPALL. Now the only thing that shows the same in ChipGenius is the controller part number, the firmware is different. I was trying to flip the removable bit to make it a fixed disk, but now I don't know how to revive it, where do I download firmware to flash it MPALL and what is the password to access its settings?

    This worked perfectly in fixing the unable to format error!!
    When looking in disk management, Win7 64 bit, my flash drive showed read only.
    I followed your steps exactly, thank you for a clear and simple fix!!!!
    Chip Genius showed it was PS2251-68, Phison Format and Restore fixed it!!!!

      While using Phison PS2251 - 68 firmware, my usb device ID given by chip genius is not matching with the device ID given by firmware, because of which i cannot format my pen drive.How to solve this problem??

    Hello, I have 32GB with Phison-ps2251. The key stopped working, wasn't recognized by any computer. I solder a wire from 5VCC to U1 on Phison controller and key is now detected but I can't access the data. I could use this tool but it will earse all data on the USB Key.       I had this problem and low level formatting with Formatter_SiliconPower helped me. It is in Phison PS2251-68 recovery tools pak.
